Golden sand beach with crystal-clear turquoise water on the Mediterranean coast

Tel Aviv Beaches

14 kilometers of golden Mediterranean coast — from party beaches to hidden coves.

Tel Aviv's 14 km of Mediterranean coastline stretches from the ancient port of Jaffa in the south to the Tel Aviv Port (Namal) in the north, connected by a continuous beachfront promenade (the "tayelet"). There are 13 official public beaches, all free to access, most with lifeguards from April to October (8 AM to 5-6 PM). The water averages 18°C in winter and 27°C in summer.

🏖️ Beach Essentials

  • Season: April-October (lifeguards active). Locals swim year-round.
  • Sun loungers: ₪20-40 ($6-11) per day at most beaches
  • Jellyfish: Common June-August. Check the purple flag system (purple = jellyfish present).
  • Shabbat: Beaches are packed on Saturdays — arrive early for a good spot.
  • Safety: Swim between the flags. Currents can be strong, especially after storms.
