About Visit Israel
The most comprehensive, honest, and practical Israel travel guide โ built by people who actually live here.
Who We Are
Visit Israel is an independent travel guide created by a team of travel and marketing professionals based in Tel Aviv. We know every destination personally โ from the best hummus in Jaffa to the darkest stargazing skies in the Negev.
Unlike corporate travel sites, we're not churning out AI-generated content from a desk thousands of miles away. We walk the streets, eat the food, take the tours, and stay in the hotels before we write about them. When we say a place is worth your time, we mean it.
Our Mission
Provide the most comprehensive, honest, and practical Israel travel guide in multiple languages. We believe every traveler deserves access to reliable, up-to-date information โ whether you're planning your first trip or your tenth.
Israel is a complex, fascinating, and sometimes misunderstood destination. Our goal is to cut through the noise and give you the practical details you need to have an incredible trip: where to go, what to skip, how much things actually cost, and insider tips that only locals know.
Why Trust Us
We live here. We've visited every destination, tried every tour, and stayed at the hotels we recommend. Our content is updated monthly.
- 1. First-hand experience: Every guide is based on personal visits, not secondhand research.
- 2. Monthly updates: Prices, hours, and conditions change โ we keep our content current.
- 3. Honest recommendations: If a popular attraction is overrated, we'll tell you. If a hidden gem deserves attention, we'll share it.
- 4. Local perspective: As Tel Aviv residents, we know the nuances that guidebooks miss โ from Shabbat logistics to the best beach on a Tuesday.

Editorial Policy
Visit Israel is published by a Tel Aviv-based editor who has lived in Israel since relocating from Buenos Aires. All content reflects first-hand experience โ we visit destinations, stay in hotels, take the tours, eat at the restaurants, and cross the borders we write about. When we don\'t have personal experience of something, we say so clearly.
How we research
- Prices โ verified monthly via direct hotel/tour operator websites (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Skyscanner, Abraham Tours) and cross-checked against currency rates on publication date.
- Transport times โ sourced from Israel Railways, Egged, Dan, and Moovit live data, plus first-hand rides.
- Opening hours โ verified against official attraction websites before publication. Dates of verification are noted on individual pages.
- Border crossings โ current hours and procedures verified with the Israel Airports Authority and traveler reports.
Corrections and updates
Every page shows a "last updated" date. We re-verify the core content of each destination guide every quarter. If you spot something that looks wrong โ a price that\'s outdated, hours that have changed, a border that moved โ email hello@visitisrael.site and we\'ll investigate within 48 hours.
AI and automation
We use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) for research, translation drafts, and fact-checking assistance. All final content is written, fact-checked, and published under human editorial oversight. We never publish unedited AI output. Our multilingual versions (EN, ES, FR, DE, RU) start as AI-assisted translations and are reviewed by native speakers when possible โ if a translation has gaps, we note it.
Sources we trust
We regularly cross-reference information with: Israel Ministry of Tourism, Israel Nature and Parks Authority, Israel Airports Authority, the Israel Antiquities Authority (for historical/archaeological sites), and reputable destination authorities (Tel Aviv Municipality, Jerusalem Municipality, Eilat Municipality).
